Joe to play at Richmond Town

Joe Wheatley begins his playing comeback from his hernia injury at Richmond Town on Saturday.

Joe has been working hard with physio Danny O’Connor throughout the summer after an operation in early June and now he’s set to begin playing again as the countdown to the new league season continues.

Academy boss Paul Thomas includes seven players in his squad who have first team experience, as he also starts the build up to the Under 23 and Academy seasons.

Richmond have steadily progressed in recent years, and are expected to be in the running for the Wearside League title this season

The ground is one of the most picturesque in the country, with the backdrop of Richmond Castle and the River Swale behind it.

Parking is a little restricted at the ground, but you can park in the town centre or in one of the nearby car parks, then walk to the ground.

Admission to the game, which kicks off at 2pm, is £3, with under 18s free.
