Darlington Football Club announce a new community initiative -- approaching the closing date for entries

As part of its efforts to strengthen and improve links with the community in Darlington, County Durham and North Yorkshire, Darlington Football Club, in conjunction with Darlo Fans Radio, would like to announce a writing competition for youngsters aged 16 and under.

 300 Words Competition

 It’s very simple. Entrants write an original story on the subject of ‘My favourite Darlington day’ in 300 words or fewer and submit it to Darlington Football Club. It could be about your school, your favourite holiday, an adventure with a friend, a story including your favourite TV show, meeting your favourite player one day --  let your imagination go wild. We ask only one thing -- that somewhere in the story you mention Darlington F.C.

Rules

There are two age groups for the competition:

• Ages up to 11 years (on 27th May 2016)
• 11 to 16 years (on 27th May 2016)

Entries must be received by Saturday March 26^th by either:

• email to raysimpson166@gmail.com
• or hand in to Quaker Retail at the Dolphin Centre or at a Game

All entries must include name, age and address, and the judges’ decision will be final.

The judges will be Phil Turnbull, Graeme Armstrong, Ray Simpson and DFR.

Prize (The important bit)

The prize for the winners will be VIP treatment at the home game against Sutton Coldfield on April 2^nd, where you will win a signed shirt from the judges Phil and Graeme. Your story will be recorded and read out on Darlington Fans Radio and appear on the Darlington Football Club website. You will also be able to assist with the match commentator for the game on Darlington Fans Radio.

The best 5 will also have their stories published on Darlington Football Club’s own website which will be seen by thousands of fans.

And EVERY entrant to the competition will receive a Darlington Football Club pen.
