2015-16 Season Ticket and Match Day Admission Prices Announced
Darlington Football Club has announced its match day admission and season ticket prices for the 2015...
As the DFC500, Vice-Presidents’ Club and Early Bird Season Ticket initiatives that ran from March have closed (offering fans the opportunity of discounted/frozen season ticket prices), the focus now switches towards funding next season’s operational activities, embedding the Club back in town and contributing towards the Club’s ongoing progression through the Leagues.
The Board of Directors has consulted with the Darlington Football Club Supporters Group (DFCSG) in its capacity as both corporate director and also majority shareholder in respect of the pricing structure and the following admission prices have been agreed.
GATE ADMISSION PRICES 2015-16
Adult | £ 10 |
Concession * | £ 7 |
Child ** | £ 4 |
* over 60’s as at 1 September 2015, full time students (student card required), registered disabled persons, armed forces personnel
** Children aged 5-16 years old
Children aged under 5 will gain free admittance
NB – proof of concession rate entitlement may be requested on entry
As a result, the Season Ticket prices for the 2015-16 season have now been set.
Rationale for the 2015-16 Season Ticket prices
- To date the Club has sold a total of 627 season tickets through a combination of the DFC500 and Early Bird campaigns
- 48.0% of sales are to adults; 47.4% of sales are to concessions; 4.6% of sales to children
- In addition, 130 free child tickets for the 2015-16 were requested by DFC500 applicants
- A £1 increase has been applied to both Adult and Concession admission prices
- As previously advised, season ticket prices for both Adults and Concessions have been increased from the 2014-15 prices to reflect (i) an additional 2 home league matches per season and (ii) the increase in match day admission prices
- No increase has been applied to child admission or season ticket prices
- Due to the take up from the DFC500 and Early Bird initiatives, no further seated season tickets can be sold until the move to Blackwell Meadows is complete
- An opportunity for season ticket applicants to pay in 2 equal installments has been introduced (however, all payments must be received BEFORE Friday 7 August 2015 to be entitled to the benefits of being a season ticket holder)
- Season ticket holders will be entitled to certain priorities for all-ticket matches (more details on this structure will be announced over the next few weeks)
- All season tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable
Closing date for Season Ticket Applications is Friday 17 July 2015.
SEASON TICKET PRICES 2015-16
Adult | £ 210 |
Concession * | £ 125 |
Child ** | £ 45 |
Chief Executive Martin Jesper explained: “The commitment of the Club to providing value for money and making the game accessible to the widest possible cross-section of supporters remains a high priority - however we must also ensure that we generate the required level of funds to achieve the strategies we have previously outlined in respect of embedding the Club back in Darlington, supporting the promotion aspirations of the Club and delivering ongoing viability and sustainability.
“Over the last couple of seasons it has also become apparent how heavily skewed our fan base is towards the aged 60+ concession rate. We feel it is important to attract the town’s youngsters back into watching their local team and, for that reason, we have reduced the child season ticket price from last year, held the same match day admission price and, as the season unfolds we have asked DFCSG to help devise further initiatives, including family packages, with the intention of redressing that balance without sacrificing ongoing revenue streams.
“Moving forward we aim to offer diverse payment options to help fans spread the cost. The opportunity to pay for the 2015-16 Season Tickets in 2 installments is the latest such initiative to be implemented. In common with many League clubs and other retail organisations, our ability to sell tickets in advance (i.e. match day or season tickets) through PayPal, Barclaycard or any other external providers of finance are restricted by the commercial conditions of those providers.
“A fair pricing policy and the ambition demonstrated by the Club both on and off the pitch will continue to ensure that the team has the best possible chance of building on its recent success of 2 promotions on 3 years.
“As an ongoing part of the Club’s Fan Engagement strategy, we are also working closely with DFCSG to ensure that all DFC season ticket holders (along with shareholders, DFC500/V-P members, DFCSG members etc.) will receive certain priorities for all-ticket matches (and/or other events) over and above more casual fans attending games on an ad-hoc basis. More details of this scheme will be announced over the next few weeks.”
