Charalampos Mavrias has played five times for his country, and returned to the club during the summer after a loan spell in Germany.

Jordan Blinco was a part of the Darlington youth team until Quakers had their problems in 2012, and he moved to Wearside. He helped the Under 18s reached the quarter final in the Premier League Cup, and was at Bergsoy in Norway last season.

Meanwhile, former Sunderland players Liam Marrs and Andrew Mitchell will both be facing their old club, while of course manager Martin Gray and his assistant Brian Atkinson played for Sunderland for several years earlier in their career.
