Quakers host Gainsborough Trinity this Saturday looking to extend our unbeaten run in the league to six games.

Goals from Stephen Thompson and Josh Gillies earned us a 2-2 draw at Brackley last weekend, a result that kept us third in the division, four points behind leaders Fylde and level on points with Harrogate Town.

We host a Gainsborough side that have recovered from a poor start to the season and are now in 13th place in the league table. They have won three of their last four games, but all have been at home. From their six away games they have fared less well, so far only picking up one point on their travels. In their last game they won 3-2 at home to Tamworth after being 2-0 down at one point.

Manager Martin Gray, who is hoping that injured pair Peter Jameson and Kevin Burgess may return this weekend, said; “We must make the most of our next two home games against Gainsborough and Worcester City. It was a long trip to Brackley last weekend and we came back with a really good point that set us up for this game.

“It was a strong performance at Brackley, and we must make sure that we take all the positives out of that, and be better in both boxes.

“We must take our chances, but the positives last weekend outweighed the negatives as far as I’m concerned.

“There are no easy games in this league, and it’s important that you treat every game as a top of the table clash. If you don’t, that’s when you get caught out. We understand that, that’s why we try to adopt the right mentality and do things the right way all the time. Gainsborough will come and be hard to beat – last week they came back from 2-0 down to beat Tamworth – but I’m more concerned about what we do.”
