Darlo fans all over the world are investing in the club. Darlo exile Adam Cattell, who lives in Brisbane, Australia, has bought some community shares.
Adam Cattell has invested in the club from Brisbane, Australia. He swopped e mails with Ray Simpson
How long have you been in Oz? How long have you supported Darlo?
Been living in Brisbane nearly two years now. started supporting Darlo in 1989 during the victorious Conference winning season!
When was the last time you saw Darlo play?
I was back in the UK briefly last year during August and managed to catch our first game away at Buxton- a 2-0 defeat. I think the squad have done tremendously well this season- given the problems we've encountered with postponements. Martin Gray and his coaching team have done brilliantly since we reformed in the Northern League- he's installed an incredible mentality within the team and a great work ethic. I hope he continues to lead us for many years to come.
What are your best Darlo memories?
Obviously the FA Trophy final win will live long in the memory, but also I can fondly recall Mark Barnard’s last minute Cup winner against Burnley in the game at the Riverside, we went mental behind the goal!
Why have you decided to invest in the club?
After all the stuff we had with playing at the Arena (I hated that place!) and its owners, I think it’s great to see the club in the hands of people who have the genuine best intentions for Darlington FC. As I can’t attend games any more, investing was a perfect opportunity to show my support from over here in Australia, I cant wait to come back over and take in a game at Blackwell, hopefully in the Conference North!
How do you keep in touch with events at the club?
With the time difference it can be a bit tricky following games, but I catch all the highlights on Youtube- Kev Luff is doing a great job- love the goal cam feature!- I also regularly visit the Darlo Uncovered page, the official website and follow on facebook.
Many thanks, Adam, it's great that you still think so much of the club from the other side of the world.
