Fifteen crazy minutes at the start of the second half cost Quakers at the New Buck's Head.

After controlling the first half but trailing to a harsh-looking penalty, they conceded three sloppy goals in fifteen minutes to hand the points to the home side.

Will Hatfield won the game’s first corner after 5 minutes when his low shot was blocked, but the corner came to nothing.

At the other end, Jake Lawlor made a good clearance from a left wing cross.

Patient build up play by Quakers on 8 minutes ended with George Smith’s left wing cross just evading Jake Cassidy and Russell Griffiths held on to the ball.

Quakers had the first shot at goal on 14 minutes. Cassidy headed down a free kick for Jack Lambert to set up Alex Purver, whose right foot shot was deflected wide.

The corner eventually ended up with Cassidy on the edge of the box, and his shot on the turn was saved by Griffiths.

Telford hit the post on 17 minutes, Williams found Brad Bood on the left wing and his low cross/cum/left foot shot hit the outside of the post.

Good interplay between Jarrett Rivers and Kallum Griffiths saw Griffiths’ fierce low cross turned out for a corner, which Quakers nearly scored from. Rose curled the ball in for Cassidy to have a header saved on his six yard line by Russ Griffiths.

Quakers hit the bar through Cassidy with a header from a Rose chip, but he was flagged for offside.

Telford broke away on 31 minutes and Keaton Ward had a shot towards goal that Taylor saved comfortably.

Griffiths was forced into a full length save on 33 minutes. Cassidy played the ball back for Lambert, who struck a right foot shot that the keeper just managed to keep out to his left.

Lambert showed some great skill on 37 minutes. He picked up a short pass from Rose on the left, turned his marker inside out, and then chipped a right foot effort that went over Russ Griffiths and landed on the roof of the net.

Telford were awarded a penalty on 42 minutes when Williams made a run into the box and went down under a challenge, and the referee pointed to the spot despite strong Quakers' protests. Brendon Daniels sent Tommy Taylor the wrong way.

Half time

Telford United 1 Darlington 0

Quakers made a sub at half time, when Kevin Dos Santos came on for Jarrett Rivers -- who was ill -- but Telford made it two 23 seconds after the resumption when Kai Williams got through and fired right footed past Taylor.

Quakers then made another sub, Tyrone o'Neill coming on for Purver.

Telford went 3-0 up on 56 minutes. Quakers lost possession inside their own area, and Williams set up Mace Goodridge to sidefoot the third.

It was 4-0 on 60 minutes. Telford played a free kick out to the right for Goodridge to drive into the area, and the ball was deflected past Taylor by a defender.

Quakers nearly pulled one back when O’Neill set up Lambert in the area, Lambert played a reverse ball back, but O’Neill’s shot was saved.

Quakers committed men forward, and they were nearly caught on the break when Daniels got away, but he fired over the top.

Dos Santos made a good run into the area, but his shot was blocked.

Taylor pulled off a good save to stop the fifth on 78 minutes, when Ward’s right foot shot took a deflection and Taylor changed his feet quickly to push the ball around the post.

To finish off a depressing day for Quakers, Joe Wheatley was dismissed for a foul in the last minute

In stoppage time, Williams dribbled his way through the Darlington defence and fired past Taylor for the fifth.
