Darlington Youth Quakers Sponsored by Darlington Building Society, The Flintlock Inn & BTS Fabrications, welcomed TSC to Eastbourne for a Durham County FA Cup Semi-Final.

Only a mile across the town, Darlington Youth Wearside were up against Spraire Lads ‘A’ in the other semi-final, both games kicking off at 10:00.

The hosts started the brighter of the two sides and soon found themselves a goal up inside 12 minutes. Liam Wynn’s out-swinging corner was headed clear only as far as Darlington captain Tom Horner on the edge of the box and his left foot strike rocketed into the top left corner giving the TSC keeper no chance.

This was a wake-up call for the visitors, who very nearly drew level in the 18th minute. The TSC forward beat the offside trap and was through on goal, only for Darlington shot stopper Bradley Morrison to make a great save with his feet.

From here on Darlington took control of the game, dominating possession and creating some fantastic goal scoring opportunities, whilst also remaining solid at the back.

A further three goals in the first half including 2 from Liam Wynn gave the hosts a comfortable 4-0 lead at the break.

It was much the same throughout the second half with Darlington creating lots of opportunities and dominating play.

A further seven goals were scored in the second period, six of them for Darlington youth which included another 2 from Liam Wynn and also a brace from Matty Moody, this making the full time score 10-1.

Man of the Match awarded by the TSC manager was Liam Wynn.

With Darlington Youth ‘Wearside’ also winning 1-0 at Spraire Lads, this sets up an all Darlington Youth FC County Cup Final.
