Darlington manager Alun Armstrong has won the Vanarama National League's manager of the month award for September!

Quakers won all four of their league games in September -- by 3-2 against Boston, 3-1 v Bradford PA, 2-0 v Peterborough Sports and 1-0 v Blyth -- to move from 17th at the start of the month up to 3rd at the end of it.

Alun is quick to point out that the award is recognition of a team effort.

"It's more than about me," he said. "There are plenty of people who have contributed to this such as the rest of the coaching team, the backroom team and everyone else who help in different ways. I must also thank our fans for all the support that they've given me."

Everyone at Darlington FC would like to congratulate Alun on his award, and hopefully there'll be more to come!
