Darlington are thrilled to announce the signing of Amaru Smith from Carlisle United on loan until January. 

Amaru, 17, is a young, exciting winger who is looking for his first real taste of men’s football here at the Quakers.  

Amaru has already made his first team debut for Carlisle in an FA Trophy game against Chatham Town last season and has featured throughout pre-season with the Carlisle United academy. 

Manager Steve Watson talks about our new loanee: 

“We’ve been looking to bring him in since the start of pre-season. He’s really quick, really exciting and direct.

“He’s still learning his trade, so it’s up to us to help him through this process, as we have with all the other loans we’ve had at the club.

“We are delighted to get it over the line.”

Amaru goes straight into the matchday squad against Bedford Town.
