Darlington FC assistant club secretary Allan Wilson has won the League's Volunteer of the Month award for August/September.

The League asked for nominations for the award last month, and without hesitation the club nominated Allan for the way he stepped forward to help the club following secretary Dave Watson's emergency sick leave.

Darlington chief executive officer David Johnston said; "Since Dave has gone off sick, Allan has helped in several different ways, and for that we are very grateful."

Everyone at Darlington FC would like to congratulate big Al on his award.
