On Tuesday night, Darlington face landlords Bishop Auckland in a friendly game at Heritage Park, as both sides gear up for the start of the new season.

The Quakers lost 3-0 at the weekend to Whitby Town. The game saw many trialists given run-outs, as well as the return to action of striker Graeme Armstrong. Armstrong who played a vital role in the club gaining promotion last season, suffered a serious injury during the final minutes of the play-off final against Bamber Bridge.

For Bishop this is their final game before their Northern League campaign gets underway. They travel to Morpeth Town on Saturday in their first fixture.

Darlington are expected to name a side featuring a mixture of first team players and trialists, with Armstrong again expected to play some part.

The sides two competitive meetings in the Northern League saw Darlington win 3-1 on the opening day of the season, with the reverse fixture ending in a 2-2 draw.

Darlington play their final game of pre-season at local rivals Spennymoor Town on Friday night at the Brewery Field.

Kick off Tuesday is 7:30pm.
