We require a self-motivated individual to maximise existing sales opportunities for the Club and also engage with the increasing number of corporate, commercial and community partners - enhancing DFC brand awareness in all dealings and relationships with.
In light of the Club’s medium term plans, this role presents a wonderful opportunity for the successful candidate to make a real impact on the Club’s growth potential. The successful individual should ideally be able to commit to the position for a minimum of 6 months. This position will be a paid, part-time role, requiring a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week and a basic salary of £1,250 per month. All essential out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. Commission will also be payable once a minimum level of sales have been generated (and cash collected).
Given the commercially sensitive nature of the plans and initiatives that will be discussed and require to be implemented, we would expect the successful applicant to be prepared to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
The job will include:
- A comprehensive briefing by the Board of Directors in respect of arrangements that are being planned and what is required for the longer term benefit of the Club
- Generating commercial income for the Club to assist with the return to Darlington and thereafter recurring revenue from the Club’s various offerings
- Devising further innovative sales opportunities
- Agreeing budgets, targets and timescales for implementation, where appropriate
- Preparation of monthly written reports on actual commercial activity achieved, cash collected, prospects and potential initiatives, for discussion with the Board of Directors
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven sales experience in customer-facing and/or private sector retail environments is essential
- Demonstrable ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and high standards of professionalism and integrity in representing the Club
- Robust literacy and numeracy skills
- Good working knowledge and practical experience of computer literacy
- A flexible approach to working hours will be required
