Let's GO for 3 in 4!

The Quakers travel to local rivals Whitby Town on Thursday night knowing that victory will seal the Evo-Stik Premier championship and promotion. With Darlington leading Blyth by two points, a draw would all but secure the title for the Quakers, with the side having the much superior goal difference.

Darlington picked up their five straight win in a row against Grantham Town on Tuesday night. Meanwhile Blyth kept the title race going with a 3-0 win at home to Rushall Olympic.

Darlington team:

Jameson, Hunter, Galbraith, Portas (sub Weldon 85), Burgess, Brown, Purewal, Scott, Hardy (sub Cartman 65), Gaskell (sub Armstrong 61), Thompson

Subs: Provett, Mitchell

Darlington were scheduled to travel to Whitby Town on Bank Holiday Monday, but severe weather caused the game to be postponed.

When Darlington and Whitby met at Heritage Park, goals from Stephen Thompson and Terry Galbraith weren’t enough to earn Darlington victory, as former Quaker Dale Hopson earned a point for the visitors.

The sides have met recently in pre-season outings, including in July when Whitby came away 3-0 winners. Whitby have spent most of the season in the relegation zone. However, they have improved since the turn of the year and now sit in 19th place.

The Quakers side features many players who have arrived at the club from Whitby, notably Tom Portas, Graeme Armstrong and captain Kevin Burgess. Portas and Armstrong arrived in the summer of 2014 and were arguably the two best players of the side which gained promotion last season. Burgess made the switch this summer and was swiftly appointed the captaincy. Whitby include former Quaker Dale Hopson.

Kick off on Thursday is 7:45pm, updates on the game will be made from the club's Facebook, Twitter, Mobile App and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio at 7:35pm
