Darlington are delighted to announce the signing of Luke Bell from Sunderland on an initial loan until November 15th with the club.

Luke, 20, is a promising defender who has come through the Sunderland academy and is experiencing his first loan in men's football to build on an impressive youth career.

Luke signed his first professional contract with the Black Cats in 2024 after an impressive year for the U18s, as well as featuring for the U21s side, where he played a part in helping Sunderland reach the Premier League 2 playoff finals, and in the summer extended his contract with the club.

So far this season, Luke has featured five times for Sunderland U21s, including two EFL Trophy games against Accrington Stanley and Sheffield Wednesday, in which Luke captained the side for both games.

We want to thank Sunderland for their help in arranging this loan, and we hope you enjoy your time here, Luke.
