Attendance 770

Quakers' six game unbeaten run was ended by Telford at Blackwell Meadows.

Telford scored twice in a few minutes soon after the interval, and even though Telford had a man sent off, they couldn't create enough chances

Telford tried to catch Quakers cold by starting the game at a fast pace.

Telford gained an early corner, and the ball came out to Henry Cowans, who struck a right foot shot from 30 yards out that went about a yard over the top.

Quakers replied with a teasing left wing cross by Joe Wheatley that Andy Wycherley palmed away, but the ref blew up for a foul against him.

Telford pressed Quakers back and forced two corners that came to nothing.

Quakers had a half chance on 16 minutes when Terry Galbraith curled a free kick over from the right and Liam Hughes couldn’t quite connect.

Darlington keeper Zach Hemming pulled off a good save on 18 minutes when the ball fell for Steve Morley at the far post from a right wing cross, and the keeper saved well at his near post.

Hemming then made another good stop, this time from a left foot shot by Udoh.

Quakers nearly took the lead on 25 minutes when Ainge helped on a through ball for Jordan Nicholson, who from 30 yards out lobbed Wycherley, but the ball came back off the crossbar.

Telford had a good chance on 39 minutes when Cowans stopped the ball going out for a goal kick and pulled it back across the area for Knights, who fired over the top from 10 yards

Then Telford had another chance on 40 minutes when Udoh got away down the right and set up Morgan Smith, whose close range effort was held by Hemming.

Just on half time though, O’Hanlon crossed from the left to the far post, where Ainge’s header was blocked by Wycherley, then Trotman drove forward and hit a right foot shot from about 25 yards just wide of the post.

Half time 0-0

Telford took the lead two minutes into the second half, when the ball ran for James McQuilkin, who hit a blistering right foot shot from 30 yards that flew past Hemming into the bottom left hand corner of the net.

And it was 2-0 on 50 minutes when a corner came over from the right, nodded down at the far post and Sutton turned the ball in from a yard out.

Quakers made a sub on 55 minutes, Harvey Saunders coming on for Simon Ainge.

Telford had a man sent off on 58 minutes when Morley was shown red for disputing with the assistant a throw in that had been awarded to Darlington.

Wycherley was then booked for timewasting.

Syers had a chance from the edge of the box for Quakers but fired straight at Wycherley.

Telford were content to sit deep, and prevent Quakers from finding space, and Wheatley had a shot from the edge of the box deflected wide, then Thompson crossed from the right for Saunders to put in a looping header that Wycherley saved under the bar.

Saunders had a shot charged down ten yards out as Quakers struggled to break their opponents down.
