Buxton gained the first corner of the game in 31 minutes. Jordan Barnett floated the ball over to the far post where Josh Granite headed over.
They had another chance a minute later, but Diego De Girolamo fired wide from the edge of the box.
Quakers nearly scored on 39 minutes when Kallum Griffiths found Kaine Felix from a throw in and Felix fired across the face of goal without anyone getting a touch.
Quakers were unlucky on 41 minutes when Jacob Hazel found Jack Lambert on the edge of the box, Lambert sidestepped a challenge then hit a left foot shot that struck the crossbar.
Lambert had a good run down the left 45+8 minutes, but his low ball was intercepted on the six yard line, then Max Conway broke for Buxton, but his shot from an acute angle was easily held by Tommy Taylor.
Half time 0-0

Buxton took the lead on 53 minutes when the ball was pulled back to just inside the area for Joe Ackroyd to hit an effort that struck Jassem Sukar and looped into the top corner past the stranded Taylor.

They nearly levelled on 62 minutes when Williams and Hazel played a couple of 1-2s. which ended with Hazel firing inches wide.
Newall had a penalty appeal for handball turned down, before Quakers were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Hazel’s blast beat the wall, but unfortunately struck the left hand post.
Quakers went close again on 76 minutes when Hazel laid off Lambert’s pass for Williams to hit a shot that Richardson pushed over the top.
Quakers then put on two subs, Jarrett Rivers and Junior Mondal for Felix and Williams.
Quakers piled on the pressure, and a ball into the box by Lambert found Rivers, who pulled his shot wide.
After having one penalty appeal turned down, Quakers were awarded another when Kallum Griffiths was tripped and after the Buxton protests were waved away, Liddle coolly smashed the penalty into the roof of the net.
