Darlington v Prescot Cables Preview
Many thanks to Simon Hahn for a preview of tomorrow's game. Tomorrow we host Prescot Cables looking to keep up the pressure on current league leaders Salford City. We are currently three points behind Salford, with four games in hand. After the disappointment of our trip to Padiham falling foul to the weather last week, it is hoped the game tomorrow will go ahead despite Bishop Auckland’s last two games at Heritage Park both being postponed.
We go into the game after the exciting news this week that striker Nathan Cartman has signed for the club from Harrogate RA. Cartman is the league’s top and has scored 36 goals in all competitions this season. With numerous clubs being interested in the 25 year old striker, it is a huge boost for the Quakers and one which will no doubt bolster our title chances.
Prescot Cables are sitting third bottom of the league table and have drawn their last three games, including a 3-3 draw with fellow strugglers New Mills last time out. When the sides met at Prescot earlier in the season the Quakers managed to come away with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Leon Scott and Alan White.
Martin Gray should have a nearly full squad to choose from for the game, with no one out through suspension. Amar Purewal did however, miss our last game, the 2-0 victory at home to Brighouse Town.
Leaders Salford picked up a great victory at Bamber Bridge last time out and will be hoping to make it two wins from two under their new management team at home to sixth placed Farsley. Meanwhile Northwich Victoria host bottom of the table Padiham.
