The Quakers look to continue their pre-season with another good test against NPL Premier Division’s Stockton Town away at Bishopton Road West on Tuesday night.

Darlington go into our second game of pre-season after a 4-0 win against Redcar Athletic, where the Quakers would take the lead after five minutes with an own goal from Redcar from a Darlington set piece. 

The second half saw a debut goal for Dylan Stephenson, who was in the right area after Mark Beck came close to scoring. Ellis Stanton would finish off a great move from Max Howells, who played it into Stanton, who slotted away inside the box. The final goal came from Trialist E, who headed home with the final touch of the game.

Darlington’s opponents, Stockton Town, will be a strong next test after Redcar Athletic and have already played three pre-season games heading into this meeting. The Anchors finished fifth in the NPL Premier Division before losing to eventual play-off winners Hednesford Town in the semi-final.

The teams met last pre-season with Darlo walking out 4-1 winners with goals from Cedric Main, Aidan Rutledge and Will Hatfield. 

👤 Player Spotlight 

Stockton have added former Spennymoor and Gateshead forward Frank Nouble and former Havant & Waterlooville defender Paul Rooney, who will both bring a vast range of experience to the side.

The Anchors have been able to retain the services of Kevin Hayes, who had 28 goal contributions last season and will be one to watch on the wing.
