Darlington Wearside Youth Under 13s 6 Castle Park 0

Darlington Wearside Youth went straight onto the attack, not giving the Castle Park team time to settle into their stride and keeping them on the back foot and on nine minutes an unselfishness sideways pass in front of goal by Dom Agnew saw Ryan Smirthwaite slot the ball past the Castle Park keeper to start the trend for this cup tie. Darlington 1- Castle Park 0.

The game continued with Darlington Youth virtually encamping in the Castle Park half of the pitch with Castle Park soaking up the pressure well. A rare 'punt' up the field from the Castle Park defence caught the Darlington team on the hop and the breakaway saw a Darlington Youth defender restrain the Castle Park forward with a shirt pull which resulted in a Castle Park free kick just outside the Darlington box. The free kick was lobbed over the Darlington defensive wall and took a cruel bounce in front of the Darlington goal keeper which was pounced upon by a Castle Park forward. However, the resulting goal was disallowed due to three Castle Park players being in offside positions, the score remained at 1-0.

The Darlington team continued their early dominance and were rewarded with a second goal on the 23rd minute when Lucas Reed produced a very sweet cross ball which was neatly put away by Kieran Wakefield. Darlington 2 - Castle Park 0.

Within two minutes from the re-start Jaxon Briggs released Tommy Hunt who put the ball into the net for Darlington Wearside Youth to go into the half time break 3-0 up.

The second half again saw the dominance of the Darlington team and five minutes after the re-start saw Jaxon Briggs on a one on one with the Castle Park keeper and Briggs produced the sweetest little 'flick' over the keeper to give a scoreline of Darlington Youth 4- Castle Park 0.

Some great teamwork from the Darlington Wearside Youth team by Ryan Smirthwaite on the right wing and Jaimie Gibson on the left wing and great defensive work by Tommy Naisbet and Keiron Devlin at the back with some good distribution by keeper Alex Bates saw the Darlington team controlling the game with the Castle Park team being frustrated in their efforts to keep in the game and the constant Darlington pressure saw a powerful cross from Jaimie Gibson being turned into the Castle Park net by a Castle Park defender on the 53 rd minute. Darlington 5- Castle Park 0.

To complete a sad day for Castle Park but a great cup tie for Darlington Wearside Youth with the virtual last kick of the match Jaxon Briggs slotted a great through ball to Daren Robertson who neatly chipped the ball over the keeper to end the game with a deserved score line of Darlington Wearside Youth 6- Castle Park 0. On signing the match sheets at the end of the game the Castle Park secretary remarked that "that was the best team his boys have played all season". A fitting tribute to a job well done.
