Andy Alton and his team have hosted nearly 500 children on our Community Programme since it began, and a group of visitors for the Halesowen game on March 26th thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

 

The Not So Secret Diary of a Match Day Experience

1.10pm

Thinking caps firmly on as we ask the group to come up with some questions before they hone their interrogation skills with the players!

1.30pm

The group enter the changing rooms and before posing for the obligatory group shot they get the chance to fire their questions at the lads. Adam Mitchell has come to the fore and often chairs the session like a footballing equivalent of David Dimbleby...

1.45pm

Once back out in the open, the group is taken on a leisurely walk around the pitch where numerous photo opportunities arise.

2.00pm

More photo opportunities and then a chance for a Darlo Q & A session. Sometimes we manage to drag in another member of staff in to answer some questions such as one of the coaches, physio or kit-man.

This group were super super lucky! The boss came over and held court for a extra special Q & A!!

2.50pm

Its nearly kick off and the group form a guard of honour, which the players and officials come through onto the pitch. This was our biggest guard of honour to date with 46 children taking part!

It’s a chance to wish the team good luck before the serious business is about to take place...

This is it! The penalty shoot out in front of a packed ‘Tin Shed’. The group end a memorable day attempting to hit the back of the net from the penalty spot...
