Striker back from University
Darlington F.C Women are delighted to announce the re-signing of Emma Doudican for the 2026/27 season.
Emma is the Quaker Women’s sixth signing of the season and re-signs for Darlington after three years away at University. A familiar face to those who have supported the team from the start, Emma was a regular starter in the team in Darlington’s first two seasons.
Emma started her youth football at 21st Allstars, and then moved on to the Middlesbrough/ Teesside RTC set up for three years before a spell playing for Darlington Spraire Lasses. Emma then signed for Darlington Women, aged 16. She made 49 competitive appearances for Darlington during her first spell at the club, starting 40 of those games, scoring 11 goals and providing 15 assists.
Emma had the following to say after signing for the Quaker Women: “I’m so excited to be back and playing with everyone again, especially after our promotion last season and meeting lots of new faces. I can’t wait to get stuck in and get the season started. Up the Darlo.”
Manager Shaun Mackenzie said; “‘We are delighted to bring Emma back to the club after her stint away at University. She was a big part of the good things we did in our first couple of seasons and we are looking forward to having her back to help the squad. Emma possesses excellent technical ability and on her day she is a top player. She is still working back to full fitness after a long term injury but she is working hard and we can’t wait to have a fully fit Emma in the team.”
