Evo-Stik Round Up - Week 19
Darlington missed the chance to be top of the table at Christmas after being held to a 2-2 draw by Radcliffe Borough. Despite being 2-0 behind at one stage, a Graeme Armstrong double rescued a point for the Quakers.
Northwich Victoria remain top of the league thanks to a stoppage time equaliser against title rivals Salford. Northwich led through an early Aboubacar Sanogo goal, however Salford turned the game around with two quick goals from Philip Edgehill and Thomas Buckley. The Vics snatched a point in stoppage time when Michael Clarke scored to make the final score 2-2.
Fourth placed Droylsden also could have been Christmas number one, however they lost away to sixth place Farsley. Kieron Kenny gave Droylsden a lead just before half time, but an Alastair Brown own goal levelled the match with 25 minutes left. Aiden Savory won the game for Farsley with ten minutes to go.
Scarborough Athletic continued their good run thanks to a late winner at home to Mossley. Gary Bradshaw gave Scarborough the lead on 60 minutes, but Thomas Pratt quickly levelled for Mossley. Matthew Plummer secured all three points for the Seadogs in stoppage time as Scarborough won the game 2-1.
Local rivals Spennymoor Town were held at Ossett Albion. Connor Bower gave Albion the lead in the first half with Michael Roberts levelling for Spennymoor. The Brewers are ninth, but still have games in hand on all those above them.
Bamber Bridge stay in the top seven after a comfortable victory away to Warrington Town. Alistair Waddecar scored twice in the first half for Bamber, before a late goal from Andrew Bell sealed a 3-0 victory.
Harrogate RA continued their recent good run with an away win at Brighouse Town. Brighouse had taken the lead through Thomas Matthews just before half time, before goals from Baker, Heath, Cartman and Martin gave Harrogate a 4-1 victory.
Liam Caddick scored a hat-trick in the first six minutes as Burscough won at Kendal Town. William Jones also scored to give Burscough a 4-0 victory.
Lancaster City won 3-0 away to Padiham thanks to a brace from Aaron Taylor. Neil Marshall also scored in between Taylor’s two goals.
Clitheroe moved up to 12th place after they thrashed Prescot Cables away from home. Jason Hart scored twice along with goals from Walker, Mayers, Burns and Gonzales in a 6-0 win for Clitheroe.
