Darlington youth u15 sponsored by Baltic training services and Billinghurst George & partners entertained Hebburn Wasps for their first game on grass for over three months.

Darlington started brightly with the host of possession encamped in the Hebburn half however a very heavy pitch stopped Darlington from playing their normal passing game which resulted in Darlington playing a more direct game .

Good saves by the Hebburn keeper and the woodwork denied Eddie Lewington and Bailey Howarth but Darlington made the breakthrough mid way through the first half when Harry Hobbs played a defence splitting pass to Adam Bearpark who finished from eight yards to give Darlington the lead.

Darlington now started to create more chances and were rewarded with their second goal just before half time when a fine solo run and cross by Eddie Lewington found Harry Noble on the edge of the box who finished from 18 yards to give Darlington a 2-0 half time lead.

The second half started with Darlington having to soak up some real Hebburn pressure and a competitive midfield battle incurred in which Joe Bettridge ,Matthew Wilson and Harry Hobbs had to put in a huge amount of work and effort to keep Hebburn at bay.

Darlington had a good chance to extend their lead when new signing Callum Blenkhorn broke clear and only a fine save by the Hebburn keeper kept them in the game.

Credit has to go to Hebburn for a real workman like performance and they grabbed a goal back after Darlington failed to clear their lines which set up a nervous last five minutes , however Darlington saw the game out to recorded their fifth win in a row.
