Darlington Under 8s continued their fine form into their third game against a good Velocity FC side.

The game kicked off in horrible conditions, with strong wind and rain swirling round the pitch. The weather didn't affect the Darlington players, with Harry Lambert giving the team their first goal of the day, with a fine finish while one on one with the goalkeeper.

Velocity pulled a goal back through an own goal from a corner, but Darlington recovered quickly through Harry Lambert again, scoring his second of the day.

Thomas Graham, who came into the side to replace Will Atkinson who was missing through illness, found himself in a perfect spot to finish off Jay Bradley's effort, just before the half time whistle. Velocity though hit back with a couple of goals .

The second half kicked off with a debut for Charlie Cole, who replaced Thomas Graham on the left wing. Also Jack Pheonix replaced Ewen Irvine at the back.

Darlington got another not long after the break, when Harry Lambert scored his third free kick of the season, and also his tenth in total.

The next ten minutes saw Darlington dominate the game, keeping possession and passing the ball very well. It was very pleasing football to watch, especially three games into the season.

A very hard working Jay Bradley rounded the day off for Quakers with a very well deserved goal. A through ball saw Jay latch onto the ball, striking it into the top of the net.

But Velocity kept on going, and put Darlington under pressure late in the game, with some reward.
