Quakers begin their pre season schedule with an away friendly at Buxton on Saturday.

The game, which is part of the transfer deal that took Liam Hardy from Buxton to Darlington, will be the first chance for supporters to see the five summer signings --- Arran Wearmouth, Jordan Watson, Liam Marrs, Mark Bell and Lewis Nightingale -- in action.

Manager Martin Gray said; “This is the first opportunity that the new signings will get to know the other lads in a match situation, for example, forming an understanding in particular areas on the field.

“It’s also a chance for the lads to improve their match fitness, after all, some of them haven’t played a full game since the end of the season.”

It's also the return to his old club for Liam Hardy, who scored 19 league goals for Buxton last season before he moved to Quakers. His most memorable goal for Quakers is probably the winner at home to Salford.

but some other fans might argue it was the second goal at Grantham on the same day that Blyth that lost to Skelmersdale

The game at Silverlands is due to kick off at 3pm. There will be updates from the game on the official website, and highlights afterwards.

Quakers last visited Buxton on the first day of the NPL Premier Division season, going down 2-0, but won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Heritage Park.

Fans are advised that there is no parking available at the ground, and should park in the nearby town centre. Admission is £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.

Quakers’ next friendly is at Harrogate RA on Tuesday night.
