Darlington FC Youth U17s 3  Durham City 1

The game started well for Darlington, as they kept the ball well making some good chances but not adding the finishing touch.

This was the story for most of the first half and five minutes from the end a ball crossed in from the right hand side by Shobi Khan was met by the left foot of Luke Jenkinson which saw the ball fly in the top right corner leaving the keeper no chance.

The second half started the same Darlington were in total control but Durham were defending in numbers making it hard for anyone to find a way through. It finally came from a perfectly weighted ball by Shayne Keatly to find Luke Evens who took in past the keeper to give himself an easy finish.

Darlington at 2-0 up found themselves under pressure when a ball from the right hand side from a Durham player came in to the box and some miscommunication lead to Durham making the score 2-1.

This gave Durham some life and they were pressing hard trying to force a opening but there was some great defending from Dan Diamond, Luke Patterson, James Walker and Brad Moncur. Unfortunately Brad had to come off with an ankle injury allowing Kelton Johnson to come on. As the game was coming to a end a ball from Tom Gilroy on the right hand side bounced off Luke Jenkinson and fell to Jamie O'Brian to put in Darlington's third goal of the game.

Then the lads kept the game under control for the last five minutes and the sound of the final whistle came to the delight of the Darlington team.
