There will be a penalty shootout at half time in the #NonLeagueChallenge legends game on Sunday in aid of St Teresa's Hospice in Darlington -- with each successful penalty netting a £1,000 donation from Marathonbet to the hospice!
Three members of the local hospice, along with three members of the Darlington FC family will join representatives from Marathonbet and a #NonLeagueChallenge Legend in taking a penalty each (ten in total) at half time.
Ex-Darlington Legend and shot-stopper David Preece, who made over 100 appearances for the club, will be in goal facing the penalties.
St Teresa’s Hospice helps people suffering from life-limiting illness; allowing patients to keep their dignity, preserve patient choice, and provide care and support for carers and other family members. The hospice are an independent charity and since its foundation in 1986 it has grown to support the people of South Durham and North Yorkshire through a range of holistic day, home, inpatient, complementary therapy, and family support services.
St Teresa’s rely on the support of the community to be able to continue providing their vital free care. The Hospice as a whole is funded by charitable donations, income from fundraising events, retail income, legacies, and grants, and negotiated contract work.
