Jake Lawlor Signs On Loan

Darlington sign defender from Hartlepool

Quakers have today signed centre half Jake Lawlor on loan from Hartlepool United.

Jake, 30, started his career as a youngster at Manchester United, before moving on to non league football with Liversedge, Ossett Town and Harrogate RA before joining Guiseley in 2013.

He had a brief loan spell at Fylde before he moved to Salford City in the summer of 2018 after making 210 appearances for Guiseley.

He then moved to Wrexham in September 2018 and made 76 appearances for them, before switching to EFL side Harrogate Town in the summer of 2020.  He made 21 appearances for them in the EFL League Two before being released.

Jake then joined Hartlepool, but failed to gain a regular place in the side. He has just completed a month’s loan at Bromley.

Jake will be on loan to us until 12th January, and goes into our squad for our away game at Chester on Saturday.

Darlington chief executive officer David Johnston said; “We are very grateful to Hartlepool, and in particular their chairman Raj Singh, for their help in getting this deal over the line.”
