Jamie O’Brien, who has been starring for the club’s Under 18 side this season, has been called up by England!
Forward Jamie has shown that he is one for the future with his recent performances, and so he has been called up for a training camp for England Schoolboys at St George’s Park soon.
Jamie is one of 48 lads from the youth set up who have been chosen to represent their districts and above.
“The facilities and the coaching that we offer at Eastbourne are amongst the best in the north east outside of the academies of the professional clubs, and it’s all funded by ourselves with the kind help of some sponsors, who buy kit for us,” said head of youth Paul Thomas. “Everyone works hard to raise funds.”

Paul said; “It’s fantastic that so many youngsters have been picked for their districts. Lads are chosen for the district in which they live, and they’re from all over the north east, such as Darlington, Bishop Auckland, North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough, Hambleton and Northumberland.
“If they do well for their districts, then in turn the lads can play for their counties, and if they do well for their counties, then they can be chosen for their countries.”
