Jim Keers

Former player passes away
The club is sad to learn about the death of our former player Jim Keers, at the age of 88.
Jim signed for us from Evenwood Town in March 1952, and scored on his debut against Barrow on 15th March 1952.
A winger, he stayed with us until the end of the 1954-55 season, scoring 15 goals in 82 league and cup matches.
He was watched by several other Football League clubs, but preferred to stay in the north east.
Our sincere condolences go to his friends and family.
