The club is looking for a new volunteer head of social media, who will be responsible for creating and implementing the club's social media strategy.
This is a great opportunity for somebody to make a positive difference for the club. This could suit a person who is studying for a media qualification, or is already involved in social media in another capacity. The person concerned must have a good knowledge of football and attend home matches.

Job Purpose: The Head of Social Media content will be responsible for managing, developing and driving Darlington Football Club’s social media communications activity.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
– To formulate and implement social media activity across the club in order to raise awareness, drive business and enhance reputation.
– Lead on the management of Darlington Football Club’s social media accounts.
– Work closely with Head of Media to ensure that all social media communications bear a consistent and agreed message.
– Undertake proactive social media work, to include developing new content & features.
– Create video and written content for the Darlington Football Club social media accounts.
– Ensure that social media interactions are responded to in a timely and accurate fashion.
– Leading and implementing the digital communication strategy.
Essential Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
– Experience of developing and implementing media relations strategies.
– Experience of utilising new tools (social media, twitter, blogs etc) in order to maximise media coverage and awareness.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skill with the ability to tailor the communication style to the audience and situation.
– A good understanding and overview of the media landscape and its workings.
– The candidate will have a strong understanding and experience of media metrics and reporting and the capacity to ensure that this is provided internally through the club
Desirable Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
– Experience gained within media sector/creative industries sector.
– Knowledge and/or experience of the football/sports sector.
– Availability to attend Darlington FC home matches.
