Darlington Youth Under 16s 3 Redcar Town 3

The u16's picked up a point in what was a combative and end to end game at home against Redcar Town. Darlington started the first half at a extremely fast pace which not also lead to Redcar being unsettled, but unsettled themselves. A sustained period of Darlington pressure saw them take a 1-0 lead which kick-started the team and the supporters. A more composed second period of the half lead to some high quality interchangeable play which eventually lead to the hosts going into the break 2-0 up.

The second half saw Redcar come flying out of the traps putting Darlo under a huge amount of pressure. Despite Darlington's best efforts Redcar managed to score three goals putting the game 3-2. The game became scrappy as tensions rose and Darlo chased an equaliser. Tensions did eventually boil over with a Redcar player being dismissed for violent conduct.

Darlo put every last bit of effort into chasing the equalising goal but were frustrated as Redcar took every opportunity to run the clock down. In the final minute of the game a well won corner was awarded to Darlington. The corner was cleared. However, a superbly hit strike from outside the area flew through the crowd like a bullet and hit the back of the net. The players, supporters and coaches were overjoyed at the last second equaliser which gave Darlo a well deserved point.
