Len Green -- funeral details

Former defender passes away

The club is sad to learn about the passing of our former full back, Len Green, at the age of 88.

Len joined us in February 1957 and made his debut in a goalless draw at home to Accrington Stanley in the THird Division North.

He played a prominent role in our greatest ever FA Cup run in season 1957-58, playing in every game, including the fourth round tie in which we famously beat Chelsea 4-1 at Feethams after drawing 3-3 at Stamford Bridge.

He made 56 appearances for us before he left the club at the end of the 1958-59 season.

We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Len's family and friends.

Len's funeral will be held on Tuesday 19th November at Darlington Crematorium at 1pm, then abck to MSG Cricket Club.  Donations to Dementia UK can be made in his memory.
