Frank Tweddle looks back at Darlo games over the years.

Today it's the game 19th September 1981 between Quakers and Blackpool.

Darlington 2 Blackpool 2, Division Four, Attendance 2,085.

We were still looking for our first victory of the season in 1981-82 when Blackpool came to Feethams for the first time since February 1927, in our old Second Division days. Two defeats by Rotherham in the two legs of the Football League Cup, draws with Aldershot and Port Vale, and defeat at Bournemouth were what we had to show for our first five games of the season. Harry Charlton came in for his first game of the season in place of the injured John Stalker in an otherwise unchanged team. The Seasiders drew first blood when big Dave Bamber put them ahead, and they led at half time, but three goals in the second half saw the game end 2-2. Colin Morris scored Blackpool’s second, but David Speedie and Ian Hamilton made sure we got a point in a game covered by the Tyne Tees Television “Shoot” cameras.

Darlo team: Cuff, Kamara, McLean, Smith, Skipper, Mitchell, Hawker (sub McFadden), Speedie, Charlton, Hamilton, Walsh.
