🔥 Match Preview  

The Quakers look to get another strong test in against an EFL side as they welcome Rotherham United to Blackwell Meadows for the penultimate and final home pre-season game. 

Darlo come into this pre-season match after a 4-1 win against Middlesbrough U21s, where the Quakers were up 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Max Kilsby and Dylan Stephenson. The second half would see two more Darlo goals through Max Howells scoring against his former side and one final goal late in the game from Mark Beck to wrap up a great run out for the team. 

Darlington’s opponents, Rotherham United, are another Football League side for the Quakers this pre-season to prepare for the upcoming season and should be a good test with both sides having played five pre-season games so far. 

The Millers are preparing for life in League Two after suffering relegation last season and have added players like Fabio Tavares, Aaron Nemane, Jamie Jellis and Ossama Ashley to their side for new head coach Alex Bruce to use this season. 

The two sides have met multiple times previously, with the most recent meeting between the two sides being a 2-0 win for the Quakers in League Two in the 09/10 season, with goals from Tadhg Purcell and Gareth Waite. 

👤 Player Spotlight  

New signing Fabio Tavares will be one to watch, with Tavares already scoring for The Millers this pre-season and is a tricky winger with former Championship experience with Coventry City. 

Denzel Hall is another one to keep an eye on as the right-sided player is known for being fast and good on the ball, and the former Feyenoord talent will be looking for a big season in red and white.
