Nella signs a two year contract for Quakers

Popular striker signs a new deal

Darlington have today signed striker Andrew Nelson on a permanent two year contract, subject to FA and League approval.

“Nella” fought back from a career-threatening knee injury last season with the help of physio Danny O’Connor, and played for the club on a non-contract basis, scoring three times in twelve games. That was enough to persuade the club to offer him a two contract, which he has agreed

Taking into account his two previous spells, he has now scored 10 goals in 25 matches, two of which were at Fylde in the season just finished.

Here's an interview with Nella

Darlington manager Alun Armstrong said; “Nella did supremely well to recover from injury and return to playing again without any ill effects. Everyone was delighted when he scored at Fylde, so hopefully he can be a regular scorer in the new season.”

Everyone at Darlington FC is delighted that Nella has agreed to sign for us, and wish him every success.
