Martin Gray is expected to name a youthful side for the Quakers trip to Yorkshire on Tuesday night in the League Cup Third Round tie.

MG has chosen to use some of the fringe players and those from the youth set up in previous rounds in the competition and this is expected to continue. So far in the League Cup, we have won 2-1 at Blyth Spartans and 3-2 at Frickley Athletic. Amar Purewal is expected to start his first game since recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, while keeper Jim Provett is expected to start in goal.

There could also be outings for striker Harvey Saunders, who has been with Darlington RA, Durham City and Bishop Auckland, and Nathan Evans, who has been released by Wycombe Wanderers.

Ossett Town are in the Evo-Stik First Division North, and are currently 20th in the division. They have struggled this season winning only four of their 26 league games so far.  In their last match, on Saturday, they fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Radcliffe Borough.

In the previous rounds,  they won 2-0 away at Goole AFC and 1-0 at Spennymoor Town.

When the sides were in the same division during the 2013/14 and 2014/15 campaigns Darlington won all four of the league meetings between the two.

Kick off at Ossett is 7:45pm, updates from the game will be made on the club’s Facebook, Twitter, phone app and website. The match will be played to a conclusion, there are no replays in this competition.
