Darlington in training at Feethams in July 1961 - how many of the players do you recognise? Trainer Dickie Deacon is pictured second from right. Season 61-62 saw Quakers finish 13th in Division Four, six places lower than the previous term, and there was little joy in the knockout competitions either as we lost to Carlisle and Rotherham United in the first round of the FA Cup and League Cup respectively. Lance Robson was the leading scorer with 17 goals, while former Spennymoor United player David Carr hit the net eight times.
