Our new season gets underway at Blackwell Meadows on Saturday when we welcome Curzon Ashton for the first fixture of the 2018/19 campaign.(writes Simon Hahn)

It has been a busy summer at Blackwell Meadows as manager Tommy Wright continues to put his own stamp on the squad.

He has brought in seven new signings and all have made a promising start in preseason -- Jonny Maddison, Jonny Burn, Liam Hughes, Simon Ainge, Jordan Nicholson and Alex Henshall, and on Wednesday he completed the signing of midfielder Tom Elliott after he completed his contract at Nuneaton.

You can listen to interviews with Liam Hughes and Simon Ainge here.

Several players, including Gary Brown, Leon Scott, Chris Hunter, Phil Turnbull, Josh Gillies, Tom Portas and Kevin Burgess have all left the club.

This is Curzon’s fourth season at this level,  a great achievement by manager John Flanagan.

We have a poor record against the Nash having only won two of our six meetings, the second one in our last meeting in March at Blackwell when Dave Syers scored the only goal of the game in the final minutes.

Our next opponents Spennymoor travel to relegated Chester, while Blyth Spartans – our next opponents at BM, go to newly promoted Hereford.

Kick off on Saturday is 3:00pm, updates on the game will be made from the club’s Facebook, Twitter and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast on Darlo Fans Radio at 2:50pm.

Admission to the game is £14 for adults (£13 in advance on line) £10 for concessions (£9.50 on line) Under 16s £5 and Under 11s free.
