Quakers ended their pre season friendlies with a 2-0 defeat at Dunston.

They had a good 25 minute spell at the end of the first half in which they created some good chances, but two successful penalties by the home side, who included former Darlington midfielder Phil Turnbull in their side, knocked them back in the second half.

Darlington keeper Bobby Jones pulled off a good reflex save in the opening minutes as Dunston settled better, but as the half wore on, Quakers got into their stride and created some good chances.

Paddy McLaughlin played Max Howells through, but the keeper saved well at his feet, then Dylan Stephenson headed a Mark Beck cross over the bar.

Sam Hetherington had a goal disallowed for handball as he rounded the keeper, then Howells curled a good chance over the bar.

Dunston went in front after 48 minutes after half time sub Tom Henson was adjudged to have fouled a Dunston player just inside the area, and Will Shaw tucked away the penalty.

And four minutes later, Shaw put another spot kick away after Scott Barrow was adjudged to have fouled.

Quakers tried their best to get back into the game, but their best effort fell to Toby Lees, who fired over from twelve yards.
