Quakers sign Blaine Rowe from Barwell

Defender arrives, but he's suspended on Saturday

Darlington have today signed defender Blaine Rowe from Barwell.

Blaine, who is 21, can play at right back or in the centre of defence. He started his career at Coventry City, and worked his way through the age groups until he signed a contract with the club in 2020.

He went on to Ayr Unitedi on loan in January 2022 and made three appearances for them before picking up an injury. He had another loan spell at Falkirk in January this year and made 20 appearances for them, helping them into the Scottish Cup semi final.

He returned to Coventry at the end of his loan and was released during the summer. He joined Barwell in the Southern League Central Division earlier in the season on a non-contract basis, and he has now agreed to join us for the rest of the season.

Blaine will have to wait for his Darlington debut, as he is serving the last game of a three match ban for a dismissal for Barwell against Leiston. He will therefore be in the squad for the home game with Blyth on Tuesday.

Here are a few words from Josh about Blaine.

We would like to welcome Blaine to the club, and hope that he enjoys plenty of success for us.
