Quakers sign Jake Cooper on loan for the second time

Defender returns to the club

Darlington have today completed the loan signing of centre half Jake Cooper from Altrincham.

This will be the second time that Quakers have signed him, the first being in September 2021 from his previous club, Rotherham United. In his first spell, which lasted until January 2022, Jake made 14 appearances for us, scoring three times before moving to Altrincham in a permanent deal.

However, he hasn’t been playing regularly for Altrincham this season because of injury, and so they have agreed to let him go out on loan until 26th March.

Here's what Jake thinks of the move:

and here are Alun's thoughts:

We would like to thank Altrincham for their help with the loan, and we would like to wish Jake all the best during his time with us.

Jake goes straight into the squad for Saturday's home game with Kidderminster.
