Darlington have this afternoon signed 26 year old Josh Falkingham and he goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Lancaster City.

Quakers have spent several days this week on securing international clearance for the player, who spent six years in Scottish football at St Johnstone, Arbroath and Dunfermline before he was released by Dunfermline at the end of last season. The clearance finally came through this afternoon, just before the deadline.

Darlington manager Martin Gray said; “Josh is a good all round midfielder, who comes to us with lots of experience. He has played over 200 games in the Scottish League, and was captain of Dunfermline last season when they won promotion to the Scottish Championship. He goes straight into our squad for the game at Lancaster.”

Yorkshire born Josh started his career at Leeds, but was released by them in 2010, and he signed for St Johnstone. He then had two years at Arbroath and four at Dunfermline.
