Quakers sign Scott Barrow on permanent basis

Defender signs for second time

Quakers have today signed defender Scott Barrow on a one year contract following his release by York City, subject to FA and National League approval.

The 35 year old, who can play in several different positions, signed for us on loan from York City in January, and went on to play a key role in our escape from relegation, making 19 appearances.

Scott has a huge amount of experience behind him, having played for Newport County, Gateshead, Tamworth and Macclesfield earlier in his career, before Steve Watson took him to York in 2020.

You can watch an interview with Scott here:

Darlington manager Steve Watson said; "We're delighted to get Scotty finally signed up.

"He made a huge impact on the team when he came in last season. He showed great experience and composure on the pitch at both left back and centre half. As we won't be carrying a huge squad this season, it's vital to have players like Scott who can comfortably play different positions."

We are sure that everyone is delighted that Scott has signed for us on a permanent basis, and wish him every success during his time with us.
