On loan for the rest of the season
Quakers have signed winger Tom Tweedy on loan from Burnley.
Tom, who is 21, started his career at Penybont in the Welsh Premier League, and played 25 times for them before he joined Burnley in January 2023.
Over the next two years, he scored 18 times, an achievement which led to him being named on the bench for the first team in an FA Cup tie at Reading in January 2025.
He then had a month’s loan at Fylde, and when he returned to Turf Moor, he scored several more goals for Burnley Under 21s, as well as earning a call up for Wales Under 21s against Andorra.
At the start of this season, Burnley loaned him to National League Morecambe, but he has now been recalled from Morecambe so then he can spend the rest of the season with Quakers.
Tom goes straight into the squad for today’s away game at Chorley.
We’d like to thank Burnley for their help in completing the deal, and also to wish Tom all the very best while he is with us.
