The game got underway in atrocious raining conditions, it took Darlington all of 5 minutes to settle into the game, the passes started flowing early on, leaving Sunderland chasing the game. After 10 minutes Spencer McCabe broke free from the defence scoring the opening goal. Another couple of impressive moves across the midfield came, but to no avail. Then from the right wing, Dylan Nicholson saw the keeper off his line and chipped the keeper from outside the box to score a very well taken goal!
Half time: Foundation of Light 0 Darlington 2
Second half the U12 came out fighting again with some very impressive passing. The home time had a couple of chances but they were very quickly cleared up by a solid defence and excellent hands from Lewis Johnstone in goal.
Murray Brock the put the game out of the home side’s hands with the third of the game, another well taken goal. Darlington continued to press into the opposition’s half, until, left back Sam Pocock went on a fantastic run through the pitch to score the fourth of the game, a brilliant individual goal.
All round a fantastic team performance from all players from the back to the front.
Final score:
Sunderland Foundation of Light 0
Darlington 4
