Management team commit until 2028

The club is very pleased to announce that management team Steve Watson and assistant Terry Mitchell have signed extended contracts which will keep them at the club until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Steve and Terry were appointed at the start of 2024 when we were bottom of the table, and after guiding the club out of relegation danger in the “great escape”, have now put us firmly into the play off race this season.

Chief executive officer David Johnston said; “We’re very delighted that Steve and Terry have signed extended contracts with us.

“They completely understand what the club is all about, and they are very keen to stay and help us advance. They have brought in some very good players, who have helped to bring about some memorable performances. They are very good to work with, and in turn their experience and expertise are big assets to the club.”

Steve said that he is very excited about the future; “Terry and I both feel that we’re building something that we can all be proud of.

“We kept the club in the league in our first season, improved it in our second season, and now we’ve got a very good chance of reaching the play offs.

“The future is very exciting. We’ve spoken to David Johnston and the board, and they’re very confident about getting our own stadium, and maybe going full time and getting our own training facilities. It’s much easier then to recruit and get people to come to the club.

“It’s great to put these contracts to bed and think about the next two seasons, but this season is at the forefront of our minds because there’s still a lot to be done.

“Everyone at the club – directors, fans, the non-playing staff, players, volunteers – have been fantastic since we arrived.”

Terry said; “I’m absolutely delighted to sign for another two years.

“We’ve made great progress with the team over the last two seasons. We enjoy working with some great people at the club, and also for the fantastic supporters who have given us some great backing.

“We look forward to working hard for everybody and hopefully achieve some success.”

We are sure that everyone involved with the club is delighted that Steve and Terry have signed extended contracts, and will continue to give them every backing in our quest for success.
