The Darlington FC Supporters Group presented a cheque for £100,000 to the club at last Saturday’s home game against Boston United.

The cheque was the proceeds of the recent Community Share issue to fans which was kindly organised by the DFCSG, and will now be used on the Blackwell Meadows project, which started last week.

Football club director John Tempest said; “The club is very grateful to the DFCSG and all the fans, from around the world, who contributed. It was quite touching when fans from as far as Texas wanted to invest in the club. The money is a big help in our quest to return and play in the town.”

Joanne Cameron, from the DFCSG, said; “Long lines of fans never cease to amaze us and together we will ensure we carry on together and get back into the Football League where we belong.”
