Super Tom Portas dominated the awards at the presentation evening at Rockliffe Park on Friday night.

Midfielder Tom, signed from Whitby last summer, capped an excellent season by being named the players’ player of the year,  the sponsors’ player of the year, and the scorer of the goal of the season, when he ran from the halfway line and scored against Bamber Bridge.

Keeper Peter Jameson who was almost an ever present this season but missed the play off final because of suspension, was voted the most improved player of the year.

Manager Martin Gray, who has been in charge of two promotion winning campaigns in three seasons, won the award for outstanding achievement named in memory of a great, late friend of the club, Harvey Madden.

The evening was very popular and was a sell out. It’s almost certain to be an annual event in the calendar.

The club would like to thank everyone who attended, and thanks for your support.
